Job description

Vehicle Technician / Motor Mechanic urgently required.

Talk to Becky at JT Recruit would like to discuss this great opportunity with you. She is looking for your talent and skills to help keep the local people safe and an emergency service operating 24 hours per day.

These are ongoing temporary roles required in varies locations:

2 x Barton Mills, IP28 6AE

2 x Chelmsford, CM1 7FJ

4 x Stevenage, SG1 2EQ

4 x Peterborough, PE1 5UA

You will be required to ensure that all motor vehicle repairs, pre-planned maintenance repairs and vehicle servicing, are completed within an accurate time scale and in a cost-efficient manner on vehicles where appropriate training has been provided.
To provide a safe, effective, and efficient maintenance and repair service within MOT standards for all vehicles.

Responsible for diagnosing faults in vehicles and decide on the extent of the work required, making informed decisions as to the repair or replacement of faulty units.

Ideally you will have C1 category licence or be willing to work towards this within 6 months of starting.

Flexible working hours is a must, as this service never stops you will be required to work in rotation with other mechanics, 37.5-hour week between the hours of 07.00-23.00hrs.

From day 1 you will receive at 15% recruitment & retention premium of your monthly basic salary

Travelling across other workshops may be required to undertake major / minor mechanical & electrical or welding repairs when required.

The Trust operates a 24-hour breakdown service necessitating call out from home on a rota basis occasionally both at night/ weekends with appropriate time off the following day in line with the WTD.
