SEMH/ASC Teaching Assistant
Cover People are currently recruiting for 4 Teaching assistants to work at a SEN School in Disley. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, they are looking for someone who has experience of working with children who have ASC/SEMHneeds, a passion for supporting young people to learn and develop but more importantly, someone who wants to make a difference to the lives and education of our children and young people.
The role
You will be working as a general Teaching Assistant with SEN classes. You will support the class teacher to promote positive behaviour, you will understand learning objectives, content and intended outcomes for the learning activities in which students are involved and you will support monitoring student progress. You will be part of a key team around the young person in order to maintain consistent support, communication and updated support plans. The successful TA will have joint responsibility with the class teacher to ensure the children are receiving the right curriculum offer according to their Educational Health Care Plan.

The school is an independent specialist primary and secondary education setting in Disley near Stockport for children and young people aged between the ages of 7 and 16. They support and care for children with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, individuals on the autism spectrum and young people with ADHD, dyspraxia and dyslexia.
