Rullion have an exciting opportunity for a continuous improvement operative to work within a team across the UK supporting our clients Logistic Engineers. The role would suit someone who is experienced in commercial painting within a construction environment and has 5's knowledge.The successful person will be required to travel to various Rail Depots around the Midlands and the North of the UK. Therefore lodging maybe required at expense of the client. Our client would prefer the candidate to be based out of the Midlands area, so they are more central to all the operations.Our client is ultimately responsible for the maintenance and reliability of various rolling stock fleet. They have numerous Rail Depots from London upto Glasgow. Therefore Health & Safety is paramount. Rates:* First 12 weeks - PAYE - £18.00 per hour or Umbrella - £22.44 per hour* Post 12 weeks - PAYE - £18.00 per hour or Umbrella - £23.56 per hourShift Pattern and hours* Shift Pattern - Days - Monday * Working Hours - 37 hours (Upto 48 hours maximum)* Duration of the role - 6 months initially and will either be extended with potential of going permanent.Further details* You must have a valid UK Drivers licence. There is a company van that can be provided. If you are required to lodge overnight, then our client can pay for the accommodation or you can pay for the accommodation and claim back through our expenses portal. You will be based a central rail depot in the midlands and then will be required Responsibilities:Operating activities1. This position will require the individual to work around the UK on a permanent basis and the individual will have to work away from home.2. This position will include using a company van and will include the tools to perform the duty.Continuous Improvement3. To always have available the most up to date standard of the 5's colour and signage codes provided by management.4. To ensure that each job the Work Package Plan(WPP), Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS) are followed, and deviations are reported to management.5. To ensure that tools/equipment are kept secure, and their condition of use is safe. Any calibrated tools are managed through a Calibration Manager and any electrical tools are PAT tested.6. To work in accordance with CAD information for precision work detail.7. To ensure all consumable products are kept secure and all COSHH materials follow the EHS guidelines.8. To ensure that all 5's painting requirements are carried out safely and in accordance with the 5's standards.9. To ensure any equipment that requires installation is carried out safely and in accordance with the depots WPP/RAMS.10. To ensure that if any building works are required the construction is carried out safely and in accordance with the WPP/RAMS.a. To insure all 5's processes are carried out to the standards required within the clients Supply Chainb. Plan for, assist and prepare for customer audits/site visits.c. Responsible for planning and scheduling work detail throughout the UKd. To be able to work away from home on a regular basis and to be able to work on your own initiative.e. Work as directed by The Material Manager/Materials Coordinator/Depot ManagementAdministration11. Be present to daily conference calls.12. Inform Materials Coordinator daily of SQDC failures including EHS/5s issues quality and cost issues.13. Using Microsoft Office software packages for general administrative activities including email, spreadsheets, presentations and document writing14. Plan for, assist and prepare for customer audits15. Answering calls16. Printing documentation and location labels17. Filing and providing historical evidence of documentation18. Comply with our clients Supply Chain Procedures19. Keeping work areas clean and tidy at all time SAP computer operating activities (will be trained - experience is not required)20. To relocate items from stores/lineside areas to maintenance areas21. To set up MRP parameters in-line with depot requirements22. To carryout prime issues to test systems23. To insure all barcode systems are installed and operational with current scanning equipment24. To run report on usage and make recommendations to depot management.
