What you will do in your working day

Working as a technician within one or more of the company’s design teams involved in delivering projects across a variety of construction sectors.

Key elements of the role include:

• Production of CAD drawings
• Preparation of calculations
• Supporting the administration of projects
• Ensuring outputs meet the required standards
• Meeting agreed deadlines
• Maintaining drawing register
• Working as a member of a team
• Contributing to providing solutions to problems
• Working both in an office environment and on site

The training you will be getting

Civil Engineering Technician Level 3 NVQ Diploma, Technical Certificate and Functional Skills if appropriate.

You will attend South Thames College 1 day a week as part of your taught programme. You will be provided with two mentors; one for your civil engineering development and the other on BIM/CAD skills.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

Any career progression routes will be discussed upon completion of the apprenticeship.
