Job description
My client is a Tier 1 main contractor and they are recruiting for a Crossings Project Manager to join the Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA).
The Crossings Manager will be critical to the successful delivery of the Strategic Pipeline Alliance, reporting to the Trenchless Crossings Project Integration and Assembly Manager, they will be responsible for:
- Management and co-ordination of design, contracts and specialist subcontractors to deliver the programme, including estimates, quality checks and third-party approvals.
- Working with cross functional teams to create integrated solutions that achieve internal approval.
- Working with supply chain to identify standard components for integration into the product development
- Ensuring all quality standards are met in development of the product
- Working with the production team to create a digital production control system, to continually monitor performance and identify improvements.
- Lead the implementation of a production management approach to delivery, driving high levels of performance and delivery to programme requirements.
Requirements
- Degree level qualification in a Civil Engineering allied subject or HND in Civil Engineering and vocational training in Engineering
- Experienced Project Manager / Senior Agent
- Strong leadership capability
- Experience of managing civil engineering contracts
- Experience of supervising multidisciplinary D&B projects including civils and MEICA
- Understanding of Engineering Principles
- Knowledge and understanding of construction contract law and forms of contract through experience and formal training
- Extensive technical knowledge of construction techniques and best practices
- Computer competence (MS Word, Excel, Document control system, Primavera software)
- Relevant CSCS Card
- Training in Health & Safety and Environmental management
- Ideally a Professional Project Management Qualification or appropriate experience.
- Can demonstrate experience of being part of linear infrastructure programmes of work.
- Can demonstrate experience of contract management on multiple concurrent projects.
- Can take on a leadership role and work with the sub-contractors to ensure safe delivery of the project whilst managing multiple stake holders to ensure the project is delivered successfully to programme.
- Has a can-do attitude and enthusiasm to innovate and get the job done!
