Wiltshire Police are inviting applications from experienced Detective Chief Superintendents and substantive Detective Superintendents seeking promotion for a key leadership role as a Head of Crime, Justice and Vulnerability.
This is a unique opportunity to join a leadership team working hard to move Wiltshire Police out of the current “Engage” status. Our Chief Superintendents are expected to demonstrate a breadth of experience at the rank of Superintendent across multiple areas of responsibility, achieving success in challenging circumstances whilst striving for continuous improvement across all areas of policing.

To be successful you will be able to demonstrate:
- Experience as a senior detective with PIP3 accreditation is essential
- PIP4 is desirable
- Experience in strategic leadership with the requisite business and political acumen to operate in a complex policing environment
- An engaging and effective communication style, who can bring to life our strategic aims and objectives for those you lead, inspiring them to deliver outstanding performance outcomes
- Experience of leading the delivery of key strategic objectives in the face of significant challenge.
- Innovative thinking to raise standards internally whilst delivering a service improvement
- A strong ethical and moral compass, challenging poor performance/behaviours
- The business acumen to effectively manage and control internal budgets within your area of responsibility and understand how your decisions impact upon the wider organisation
- The expertise to lead the design and implementation of significant organisational change projects or programmes, to drive continuous improvement, best practice, and outcomes for the public
- Proven ability to manage and maintain strategic relationships with local and regional partners, effectively influencing and collaborating to enable the achievement of force priorities
- As an inclusive leader you will understand the importance of valuing difference and will be able to evidence your contribution to building a diverse and inclusive organisation for the benefit of the communities we serve

A relocation package may be available if an officer is moving into the force area, this will be subject to negotiation and will be discussed and agreed upon appointment.
The post will be based at Wiltshire Police Headquarters, Devizes. However, the nature of the work will require travel throughout Wiltshire, Southwest Region and nationally. It is envisaged the role will be hybrid with two days working in Devizes, two days anywhere in the County and one day remote working.
Candidates will be required to be part of an on-call rota and if not already, achieve SFC accreditation.When on call candidates will be expected to be within one hour of a Police Station.
