Position Information Colo High School is a proud, comprehensive high school. It has an outstanding record of achievement in academic, sporting and cultural pursuits. The school community is situated in the semi-rural Hawkesbury area and approximately 20 minutes from Penrith. The school serves communities situated in the semi-rural Hawkesbury area and was established in 1978. In 2023 there were approximately 830 students including 51 students who identify as Aboriginal. The school plan reflects Colo High School’s willingness to embrace the future, support our students to strive for excellence and ensuring we have strong links to our school community.

Specific Selection Criteria

  1. Approval to teach ENG English (Years 7-10) and ESG English (Years 11-12).
  2. Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively within the English faculty with evidence of developing quality teaching and learning programs, lessons and resources utilising technology, across a wide range of English courses.
  3. Ability to use effective classroom management skills and well-being practices to create a classroom environment that is engaging, inclusive and fosters a culture of high expectations.
  4. Highly developed communication skills with the ability to establish positive, respectful relationships with students, staff and families.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
