Job overview

The Senior Nurse Manager (SNM) has responsibility for the leadership and management of nursing across the designated hospital site/s; this includes line management of the Matrons. The SNM will support the Network Director of Nursing & Quality in all issues relating to nursing within the hospital and is an integral part of the senior nurse structure.

 

The SNM will establish and foster an effective working relationship with the Hospital Management team to lead improvements in nursing, service delivery and the achievement of organisational priorities. The SNM are responsible for decision making where practice or service delivery issues arise within the hospital and where cross-locality leadership is required.

 

The SNM has responsibility for the delivery of safe, clinically effective and compassionate nursing care within the hospital and provides assurance evidence to the Network Director of Nursing & Quality and Chief Nurse & Quality Officer regarding compliance against all appropriate professional, organisational and national compliance standards.

The SNM will establish and foster an effective working relationship with the Multidisciplinary team to lead improvements in nursing, service delivery and the achievement of organisational priorities. The SNM are responsible for decision making where practice or service delivery issues arise within the hospital and where cross-locality leadership is required.

The SNM has responsibility for the delivery of safe, clinically effective and compassionate nursing care within the community setting and provide assurance evidence to the Network Director of Nursing & Quality and Chief Nurse & Quality Officer regarding compliance against all appropriate professional, organisational and national compliance standards.
