Composites Finisher Team Leader
£38,000 - £40,000 per annum
Berinsfield

General Description:
The role of Team Leader necessitates a practical approach to lead a team of approximately 10 direct reports, responsible for the finishing of GRP products. Supervising all aspects of the finishing process and mould tool preparation stages within the Composites Department. Managing team performance and offline metrics, collaborating with stakeholders to optimize workflow and efficiency.

About the role:
  • Manage and inspire a team of GRP finishing specialists, ensuring efficiency of workflow and high-quality output is achieved
  • Assign tasks efficiently, monitor performance, and provide constructive feedback to drive continuous improvement
  • Foster a collaborative and positive team environment, promoting open communication and problem-solving within the team and wider Composites department
  • Oversee all stages of the finishing process, from efficient use of materials and procurement through our internal ordering system to final inspection and quality control, ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality standards are maintained
  • Participate and contribute to weekly team planning meetings, focusing on scheduling and performance, as well as providing insights and recommendations from the finishing team’s perspective
  • Generate and present reports to management highlighting areas for improvement and team progress, as required
  • Set KPIs for the finishing team and monitor individual performance through regular appraisals
  • Implement data-driven initiatives to enhance team efficiency and maximize potential

  • To carry out tasks and duties as required from time to time by Senior Management in accordance with the company's operating procedures and policies
  • Strict adherence and implementation of the Health and Safety at Work Act is an essential part of the post
  • Promote the company values within the team and ensure company code of conduct and ethics are maintained
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Experience in manufacturing process control
  • Proven team management and leadership experience in a similar working environment
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills, with a focus on meeting deadlines, proficient in data analysis and reporting, with effective communication skills
  • A collaborative and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across a broad team
