Job description
We have a fantastic opportunity for an Accounts Assistant to join our expanding team covering our Warwick site and Alfreton.
Accounts Assistant will contribute to the control and compliance of the day-to-day operation of the accounting functions. This Role will also support the Head of Finance in the control and management of the finance function in line with the company’s values.
Please Note: This is a part time role (20 hours per week) on a Maternity cover leave 6-8 Months. The focus will mainly be on our Warwick site but also supporting Alfreton (no travel to Alfreton will be required).
Main Responsibilities:
- Assist Management Accountant with project administration on Maconomy (set-up, amendments, and closure)
- Assist Management Accountant with Sales Invoicing and Credit Control process
- Monitor and execute on shared email inboxes for Accounts team
- Process Accounts Payable invoices including allocation in accordance with budgets and timescales, dealing with queries and chasing invoice approvals
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any issues
- Track completion of time sheets on a weekly basis for compliance with submission deadlines
- Filing fully allocated supplier invoices and managing archived information
Person Specification:
- Appropriate level of education within accounting, taxes or equivalent qualification
- Appropriate experience and awareness within the areas of responsibility
- Good understanding and awareness of financial and general accounting principles
- A good understanding of delivering the Finance service in a proactive Finance function that supports people and business performance in a service organisation
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Logical and organised approach to work under own initiative
- Skilled in developing and maintaining strong and sustainable relations with stakeholders
- Ability to keep good order and maintain integrity
- The ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure
- Experience in Maconomy would be an advantage but not essential
