Job description
We are seeking a highly motivated, professional and caring Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner to join our Theatre team. Lymington Surgical Unit comprises of the Surgical Outpatients Department with minor procedure treatment facilities, Pre-Assessment, Day Surgical Ward and Theatre Suite. We cover a range of surgical specialities for day surgical patients including General Surgery, Urology, Gynae, Colorectal, Orthopaedics and Ophthalmology. As well as minor procedures in MaxFax, Dermatology and Orthopaedics. Experience in any of these areas is desirable but training will be provided. Experience in the theatre environment in Anaesthetics, Scrub and/or Recovery would be an advantage however relevant training will be provided in the unit. Lymington Surgical Unit is currently a Monday to Friday Service, shifts usually run over 4 days Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm. There is the potential of development in the future to weekend clinical activity. You should have excellent communication skills (written and verbal), a flexible approach and the ability to work on your own initiative. Attention to detail and good communication are also essential as you will be dealing with patients, relatives and staff from across the Trust within a number of disciplines.
