Job description
We are looking for an Accounts Payable Manager to support our finance team!
This role is 30 hours a week, full time on site, in our Barnsley head office.
Responsible for overseeing all Accounts Payable functions of the company, having expert knowledge of, and experience of implementing, industry best practices.

Why this role is valuable:
The Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for leading on:
- The management of the Accounts Payable function within Lucy and Yak.
- Supervision of 2 Accounts Payable Assistants including setting objectives and managing performance against them.
- Managing the invoice approval process for GFR and GNFR.
- Ensuring all invoices are paid on time, and occasional Accounts Receivable tasks.
- Working with the Buying and Merchandising teams to manage GFR payments and the cashflow process.
- Preparation of month end reporting for the Accounts Payable department and reviewing aged creditors.
- Managing supplier set up and amendment process for Accounts Payable.
- Implementing and maintaining department and team KPIs.
- Ensuring policies and procedures are met for the Accounts Payable function.
- Proactively supporting and resolving invoice queries with both suppliers, and managers across the organisation.
- Providing insights into potential issues with suppliers, potential risks on invoicing and possible improvements. This to be achieved through regular reconciliation of supplier statements, and other balance sheet reconciliations including stock management, ensuring these are done in line with Company policy.
- This list is not exhaustive, as part of the Finance management team you will work across all Finance functions as required.
What you bring to the role:
- Minimum of 3 years practical experience in an Accounts Payable role including some team management experience
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks accordingly.
- Excellent IT skills with a high proficiency in Excel. Experience of working with Xero and new system implementation would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
