Leadership, supervision, responsibility of Architectural team assigned to project. Assign
work to teams, monitor and manage the work of Home office and Global workshare offices.
• Sound understanding of the technical and execution requirements for Architectural.
• Dynamic Leadership style, being prepared to push the boundaries when necessary.
• Develop and review project Scope of Services, Scope of Facilities, Design basis,
Specifications and other project baseline documents for all phases of projects.
• Develop and review manhour estimates and schedules including manpower forecasts,
support progress reporting.
• Monitor and maintain baseline. Identify deviations in job scope, estimate magnitude of
changes, schedule / budget impact and initiate trends or change orders.
• Translate global strategic initiatives into procedures to be implemented on projects.
• Establish, track and monitor material key quantities; provide analysis and forecasts.
• Incorporate health, safety, and environmental factors in design.
• Deliver quality work, adhere to the Fluor Operating System Requirements, industry codes
and standards as well as department practices and procedures.
• Support Department manager for proposal and estimate activities.
• Support in the development of department standards, procedures, practices, and
guidelines.
• Develop and build external relations with client representatives, vendors, and
subcontractors and interface closely with other discipline functions promoting Client
Service Excellence.
• Support with company functions outside the department.
• Contribute to and promote the use of Fluor’s knowledge management portals and
communities.
• Participate in people development through mentoring, development of training material,
conducting training seminars including performance appraisal input and counselling
Proven track record as Lead Architectural Engineer in execution of Projects in prefeed, FEED
and EPC Phases.
• Oil and Gas engineering experience in upstream, downstream, petrochemical sectors. LNG,
Offshore, Life Sciences and Advanced Manufacturing experience is beneficial.
• Workshare experience with Global Engineering offices essential.
• Accredited professional architectural degree based on country requirements and
relevant industry experience.
• Masterplanning of industrial process facility layouts predominately consisting of process
buildings.
• Design of industrial process and other plant buildings from conceptual design through to
detailed design and construction as directed by the Lead Architect/Lead CSA Engineer.
• Multi-discipline design coordination with in-house engineering disciplines comprising of Civil,
Structural, HVAC, Building Services, Fire Protection and Detection, Process, Equipment Layout
and Construction teams.
• Preparation of architectural drawings and specifications in accordance with Company practices
and procedures.
• Input to Scopes of Work for building Contract packages.
• Review of Contractor bid submissions through to and including Contract Award.
• Review of specialist Subcontractor packages including CDP (Contractor Design Portion)
elements of the work.
• Provide architectural technical support to Projects as Lead Architect where required.
Demonstrate Lead capabilities.
Assign work to teams, monitor and manage the work.
• Incorporate health, safety, and environmental factors in design.
• Develop and review specifications, including design criteria.
• Develop and update job execution plans.
• Perform and check architectural design and calculations, specify equipment, and solve
problems of moderate to difficult technical complexity.
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and
federal/national statutes and guidelines.
• Act as a leader in applying Cost Competitive Execution techniques and develop the most cost effective total project solution for the discipline engineering work.
Basic Job Requirements
Membership of a recognised international architectural professional institution.
• Advanced knowledge of discipline codes and standards, commercial availability, cost of materials.
• Managing and leading a large project.
• Effort-hour estimating and staff forecasting.
• Project set-up, developing control-level schedules, progress reporting and project close-out.
• Practical Field experience.
• Experience in industrial architecture and process plant building design.
• Experience of client management and briefing activities.
• Good conceptual design abilities.
• Good technical building construction knowledge including UK and international building
codes.
• Good project management skills within the Architectural discipline and understanding of the
RIBA Plan of Work.
• Understanding of ‘Green Building’ principles including BREEAM and/or LEED.
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.
• Good AutoCAD and/or Microstation experience.
• Familiarity with Revit and Navisworks. Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
