Job description
Blue Handling, Ryanair's exclusive Ground Handling Partner at Stansted Airport are currently recruiting for an Assistant Ramp Co-ordinator to be based at Stansted Airport.
As the Assistant Ramp Co-Ordinator (ARCO), and in the absence of the RCO, the ARCO will assume full control of all RCO duties. You will be responsible for oversight and management of Ryanair’s Back of House (Airside) operations at Stansted on a shift basis by ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely running of the Back of House operation. The relevant departments of Ryanair’s Back of House operation at Stansted Airport are as follows.
· Ramp Operations
· Operations (Ops) Support
· Baggage Hall Operation
· Operations Control Centre (OCC)
· Ground Service Equipment (GSE) Maintenance
As the ARCO, you will promote a positive team environment in the operation by leading, guiding, and correctly distributing the workload. You will also be responsible for controlling and resolving incidents that may occur in the operation. As the ARCO, it is your responsibility to achieve the best performance whilst adhering to safety and training procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the safe, efficient compliant procedures of personnel on shift at all times
- Address safety breaches by staff in line with the Performance Management Process
- Supervise operations and ensure all procedures are followed as trained
- Issue performance File Notes and meetings with staff where necessary
- Ensure all GSR’s are submitted before end of shift and that information required is included.
- Ensure any Security related issues or concerns are addressed and reported as required.
- Maintain excellent on time performance and investigate and report on any delays including root causes and any necessary steps taken to prevent reoccurrence.
- Ensure all staff are present for work and address time keeping or attendance issues.
- Responsible for the implementation of uniform standards for all BOH staff members
- Ensure annual leave is allocated according to staff requirements on shift.
- Meet with staff on return to work following absence and document it accordingly.
- Ensure all staff are compliant with Ryanair’s SMS reporting requirements.
- Completion of ramp self-audits (minimum 1 each day of shift) and include root causes and corrective actions.
- Complete necessary incident reports with all required information.
- Complete yearly appraisals with staff members.
- Complete daily shift report with all required information from the shift including delays, incidents, breaches, absences etc.
- Attend weekly managers meetings with STN Management to discuss operational issues, trends or actions.
- Work with Blue Handling admin and training dept. to ensure that staff are trained in a timely manner.
- Ensure GSE is maintained, charged, and used as per training.
- Management and oversight of the OCC and OCC staff to ensure that communication is maintained as required.
As the ARCO, it will be necessary to arrange and take part in other duties including:
- Work on improvement plans where necessary, by communicating with the training department to arrange upskilling where required.
- Particular attention is focused on Safety and compliance with policies and procedures and the delivery of a safe operation from all BOH staff.
- Investigation and disciplinary meetings
- Oversight of staff attendance, ensuring all staff arrive for work on time, in full uniform and PPE is used in line with uniform standards and any deviation from the policy is deal with in a fair and consistent manner.
Requirements
- Airside management/supervision experience
- Excellent communication and able to influence at all levels.
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Great organisational skills with excellent time management.
- Able to think “outside of the box” and problem solver.
- UK drivers license
Desirable
- Trained in aircraft pushback procedures.
- Management certified.
- Ops Control Centre experience.
- Experience of working within an on-boarding operation
