About This Job:

This is a new position that will support our affiliates in Developed Markets (Nordics, Benelux, Greece, Poland etc).

As the Senior Medical Excellence and Operations Manager, you will lead and be responsible for operational efforts to drive annual and longer-term medical planning alongside the execution of Medical Affairs (MA) activities and deliverables.

You will contribute to the establishment of an operational framework that ensures adequate oversight of the execution of MA activities such as Core Medical Planning tactics, Grants, investigator-sponsored research, change management activities, and ensuring SOPs are followed.

Your remit will also provide both communication and management tools that meet the needs of the MA function and stakeholders and ensure efficient collaboration from Regional to local for MA.

Key activities are noted below:

• Develop and execute affiliate annual plans, ensuring alignment with MA Governance and strategic contributions.
• Collaborate with medical teams, providing subject matter expertise on Governance, Process, and supporting budget management for MA activities.
• Lead affiliate MA planning, providing subject matter expertise on technical aspects relating to Core Medical Planning process. Collaborate with affiliate MA teams to develop content and metrics for monthlexy reporting requirements
• Oversee ISR execution and ensure metrics are updated according to contractual milestones. Act as subject matter expert on the operating model for the set-up, governance, and execution of ISR and manage the affiliate MA Grant budget
• Design/contribute to simplification/efficiency of existing/new processes, develop recommendations/plans, and lead initiatives, as required, locally.

Essential Knowledge & Experience:

• Good experience of the pharmaceutical industry in a science/medical based function or from within a Consultancy environment
• Experience of governance processes, quality standards, local laws, and guidelines
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to manage projects, planning, process, and budgets with strong communications capabilities
• Able to navigate a matrix environment and liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders and vendors. Understanding of drug development and preferably Astellas key Therapy Areas
• Fluent in written and spoken business English, other EU languages useful

Education/Qualifications:

• Life Sciences Degree/MSc or equivalent

Additional information:

• This is a permanent, full-time position based in the UK or other developed market affiliates
• This position follows our hybrid working model. Role requires a blend of home and a minimum 1-day per quarter in our nearest office. Flexibility may be required in line with business needs. Candidates must be located within a commutable distance of the office.
