The Health Protection Practitioner will provide specialist advice on Covid-19 and our Test
and Trace programme in Lambeth.
The postholder will work as part of the Public Health team providing specialist expert advice
on wider Public Health work, which will include a range of infectious diseases including
notifiable diseases, as well as vaccination immunisation and screening.
This role will lead on the response to covid clusters and outbreaks in high risk settings, with
responsibility for decisions about outbreak management and leading on multi-agency
outbreak responses.
The postholder will also be responsible for identifying and leading the implementation of
health protection and infection control systems.
The postholder will work with a range of public and private sector agencies to provide a
health protection function across Lambeth, in partnership with regional resources and the UK
Health Security Agency (successor to PHE).
The Health Protection Pratictioner will line manage and supervise two or more situational
staff memembers.
Through management of staff and resources, the postholder will ensure that services are
delivered in accordance with the Public Health policy.
Relevant Experience
Relevant experience as a practitioner in a related field and maintenance of good relationships with managers, staff and external contracts
Experience of risk management and associated reporting.
Experience of supporting/assisting the development and delivery of presentations, training and/or education
Qualification
Registered Nurse with current professional
NMC registration OR First degree (Health Related) or demonstrable equivalent experience and Working towards registration with an appropriate health or science related professional body OR
Educated to masters level in relevant subject or equivalent level qualification or significant experience of working at a similar level in specialist area
