Apprentice (Street Light Electrician)If you’re a hands-on problem-solver, this could be the apprenticeship for you!
Electricians install, maintain and repair electrical systems in industrial, commercial, and domestic environments. They make sure electrical equipment works correctly and safely.
As a Street Lighting Electrician Apprentice, you will develop skills, knowledge and experience working in Technical Services
You will work across the Highways Services Team of Durham County Council within Neighbourhoods and Climate Change. The structured training programme will enable you to gain experience, further education and broad base skills within Technical Services
The apprenticeship role involves working alongside fully qualified Electricians, replacing Street Lighting equipment, fault repairs and maintenance, within an external Highway environment.
What qualification will I gain?You will study towards the Installation and Maintenance Technician Level 3 standard with JTL
What will I need?You must have or expect to achieve 3 GCSE’s including Maths, English Language and a Science subject grades A*-C/9-4 or a Level 2 in literacy and numeracy (or equivalent) , together with good communication and ICT skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
