Job description

We are looking for Quality Manager that will support the Learning, Skills and Employment Manager ensuring the delivery of outstanding teaching, learning and assessment is achieved for all learners. To ensure quality and innovation continually improve and raise standards by implementing the Services Quality Assurance and Improvement Systems. To lead on the production and implementation of the self-assessment report and quality improvement plan, along with any other reports pertinent to the quality of the service. This will involve the requirement to work evenings and occasional weekends.

Key duties and responsibilities:

To manage and lead the implement all quality assurance processes including Matrix Award, internal and external verification in accordance with Awarding Organisations and Service procedures and action plan where necessary to improve standards.
To manage and be responsible and review Service policies and procedures and implement systems and processes to increase quality improvement and learner outcomes ensuring compliance across the Service. Ensuring rapid improvements in underperforming/satisfactory provision.
To lead, manage, monitor and review performance indicators on learning outcomes: attendance, retention, achievement, progression, RARPA etc. to ensure targets are met and to action plan to improve if necessary. To ensure the service is Ofsted ready.
To manage produce, implement and monitor the Service Self-Assessment Report and Quality Improvement Plan in line with the Service and organisations requirements such as Ofsted, TVCA, ESFA. Along with the production of TVCA delivery plans.
To proactively liaise with the MIS and Funding Manager to make effective use of data for the continued improvement of the learner experience, progress, outcomes and destination of learners and implement actions where required.
To manage and produce the marketing of the Service using innovation to enhance the Services reputation and image, making links with employers and partners.
To observe and monitor teaching and learning including quality checks and walkthroughs and provide constructive and developmental feedback to staff and CPD where required and action plan if necessary.
Manage and lead a curriculum area/s as directed by the Learning Skills, and Employment Manager.
Contribute to recruitment, induction and provide ongoing support to relevant staff including staff appraisals and /staff meetings.
Manage the Learning Mentor and support the Curriculum Manager to implement the effectiveness and efficiency of the provision on a regular basis ensuring that the service is graded Ofsted Good or Outstanding..
To lead and arrange staff for invigilation of examinations.
Teach a number of hours required to cover staff absence or service requirements.
The candidates must have:

DBS, Knowledge of education and Ofsted

· Substantial experience of managing staff in the teaching and learning sector.

· Substantial experience of delivering continuous improvement, value for money and quality assurance.

· Substantial experience of implementing, evaluating policies and procedures.

· Substantial experience of curriculum management and development.

· Substantial experience to lead, inspire and motivate staff to achieve high levels of performance.

Substantial experience of Ofsted inspections and common inspection framework.

· Excellent record of managing high quality teaching and learning.

· Excellent ability to devise strategies to improve attendance, retention and achievement rates.

· Ability to lead, inspire and motive staff to achieve high levels of performance.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve deadlines and targets.

· Higher level degree or equivalent

· Relevant teaching qualification i.e. PGCE, Cert Ed or DETTL’s .

· UCPD subject specialism in Literacy, Numeracy or ESOL .

· Flexible approach to work by responding to the needs of the services including, at times, requirements to work beyond normal working hours.

· Commitment to own continuous personal and professional development.

· Strong team player, committed to an ethos of continuous improvement.

· Full driving licence or ability to meet the travel requirements of the post.
