The Automation Engineer will use their expertise in researching, designing, and developing automated solutions, particularly focusing on implementing and deploying PLC controls with Rockwell Automation Studio 5000. Additionally, you will drive innovation by creating new automated cells, assembly lines, and operational projects that not only optimize resource utilization but also prioritize economic efficiency and effectiveness. With a commitment to achieving production excellence and upholding the highest standards of employee safety, you’ll lead projects that seamlessly integrate Rockwell Automation Studio 5000 into the manufacturing landscape, ensuring the organization remains at the forefront of automation technology.

Responsibilities

• Implement and deploy PLC controls for diverse projects, ensuring seamless automation integration.
• Develop and refine project concepts, requirements, and system designs to meet specific goals.
• Utilize CAD for detailed designs and layout drawings, supporting efficient equipment production.
• Coordinate comprehensive working drawings for machining, fabrication, assembly, and external vendors.
• Lead project meetings throughout various phases, from conceptualization to postmortem analysis.
• Optimize workforce utilization, space, and workflow, striving for maximum operational efficiency.
• Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements for strategic planning.
• Collaborate with vendors to determine product specifications, evaluate products, and maintain quality standards.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related degree
• Demonstrated ability and experience developing automated systems in a manufacturing setting
• Must be adept in Robotics and PLC Programming as well as HMI and Sensor development
• Senior-level programming knowledge in Rockwell Automation Studio 5000
• Senior-level experience programming fanuc robots
• Intermediate knowledge of manufacturing design principles such as fmea and dfma
