Woodcote House School
Location
Surrey | United Kingdom
Job description
An opportunity at a prestigious boys boarding and day prep school in the Surrey countryside, 25 miles south of London. Woodcote is family owned and run, with approximately 105 boys, the vast majority of whom go on to the leading senior independent schools at 13. This residential role is working as part of a dedicated team, assisting with and contributing to the supervision and care of pupils in our boarding Houses, as well as in the sporting and extra-curricular life of the school. We have an opportunity for someone to join us to support the smooth running of daily routine during the School day. This is a boy’s boarding house covering year 3-8.
As Assistant Head of Boarding, you are responsible for liaising with the Deputy Head Pastoral, communicating with parents, and ensuring the boarding feels like a home to our pupils, both full-time and part-borders. You will build positive, professional relationships with School staff and parents.
Responsibilities would include monitoring pupil clothing/uniform, health and general well-being within the house. You will support the Head of Boarding and other pastoral staff in ensuring that their work is carried out effectively and efficiently. Administration skills are crucial for this role, so experience of using MS Office is required.
On-site accommodation is provided, and all meals are included.
The successful applicant will be given training in child protection, Prevent, fire safety, food hygiene, GDPR and general boarding as part of their induction program. Any experience and qualifications in relation to the above are desirable.
Woodcote House School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be subject to appropriate vetting procedures and a satisfactory Enhanced DBS with Barred List check.
