Job description
To support the divisional team and clinical teams within Womens Services in the development and review of guidelines and policies. The post holder will also oversee the womens audit programme leading especially upon midwifery audit working closely with the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Audit lead. They will also be responsible for other projects which may arise from time to time. This post supports the quality and governance agenda within Maternity and is key to ensuring that nursing, midwifery, and medical practice is safe, evidence based and current, advising on changes nationally to practice and supporting the implementation of such guidance into practice. The post holder will be responsible for the oversight and monitoring of the standards through audit and presentation of key performance indicators including the monitoring and review of practice in line with local guidance following review/ implementation of a new guideline. There would be the expectation to support the clinical areas as part of the escalation policy. Therefore, the requirement to maintain professional registration with the NMC is necessary for the post along with maintaining up to date with relevant mandatory and role specific training. The post holder will work collaboratively with the Band 7 Risk and Incident Midwife providing cross cover during absence where required.
