The role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a well-qualified History and Politics Teacher to join our vibrant History and Politics Department from September 2024.
In line with the school’s academic philosophy of ‘Playful Scholarship’, you will deliver stimulating lessons that stretch, challenge, and inspire our students. You will offer individual support where appropriate and will also make key contributions to the school's pastoral care, safeguarding the well-being of our students. For the right candidate, there may be the opportunity to discuss a Middle Leadership position available in the Pastoral Leadership Team, dependent on experience and expertise.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, positive, and hardworking teacher, with excellent subject knowledge and a passion for History and Politics. While previous experience of teaching History at GCSE and both subjects at A Level may be an advantage, the Department is primarily looking for a colleague that will want to engage with our talented and hard-working students and is therefore happy to interview experienced practitioners or prospective ECTs. Specialist History Teachers teach across the full age range from Year 7 to Year 13, in three classrooms dedicated to the subject, whilst Politics is taught at A Level and in our bespoke PPE programme to our Year 10 Students. The Department runs a range of super-curricular societies including ‘History Girls’ and ‘Headlines from Sixth’ and is involved in wider initiatives like ‘Advocacy for Girls’. Any prospective team member is welcome to add their own initiatives and/or help run any or all of these parts of our provision.
