Job description
Merchandise Buyer responsible for sourcing and purchasing merchandise for the charity.
What will you be doing?The Merchandise Buyer is responsible for selecting and purchasing inventory for the Trust's retail subsidiary. They will work with the management team to determine what merchandise is needed, and then research and source suitable items from suppliers. The stock will be sold onboard Tornado during tours and at national events across the UK to raise income for the Trust’s charitable aims and objectives.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the A1 Steam Locomotive Trust. The person taking on this role will be playing a crucial part in supporting the operation of our existing steam locomotive, the building of a new steam locomotive and the creation of our education programme to ignite young minds with immersive learning experiences, ensuring that generations to come can experience steam locomotives. All profits from the sale of merchandise is invested back into the charity.
The A1 Steam Locomotive Trust is an independent organisation based within the Railway Heritage Quarter – Hopetown Darlington. Our workshop will be viewed by the 300,000 estimated visitors each year as our engineers build a new locomotive PRINCE OF WALES No. 2007.
