Job description

I am a 57 year old lady living in the levenshulme area of Manchester. I am looking for a personal assistant to support me with personal care, preparing meals, cleaning and laundry and to help me access the community. I am a wheelchair user and the suitable applicant will need to undertake moving and handling training which is arranged by the employer. The hours are flexible and include a range of visits throughout the day, including some evening work. 12 hours per week available and worked on a rota basis. Days and times to be discussed.
The Ideal candidate will have some experience of providing care (formal or informal), good hygiene standards, some cooking skills and willingness to cook range of foods including meats (e.g pork, beef, lamb, chicken) and good communication skills.
All necessary training, equipment, and PPE will be provided. No uniform, dress code informal. Enhanced DBS required and will be done by employer.

Due to the nature of this role including personal care I will be considering female applicants only in accordance with the provisions of the Occupational Requirement (Equality Act 2010, pursuant to Schedule 9 part 1).

• Qualification in Care/Health and Social desirable but not essential
• Previous experience in caring/personal assistant desirable but not essential.

- Rate of pay is £11.37 per hour
- 5.6 weeks holidays per year based on contracted hours
- DBS cost met by employer
- 13 week trial period
