Job Title: Teacher (with Designated Safeguarding Responsibility)
Salary: Up to £36,000 depending on experience
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Reporting to: Head Teacher
Responsible for: Carrying out the professional duties of a teacher in accordance with the school's policies and ethos under the direction of the Head Teacher.

Main Purpose: As a Teacher with Designated Safeguarding Responsibility, you will work under the direction of the Head Teacher to take responsibility for the progress and learning of pupils, ensuring a positive ethos and core values are maintained at all times.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Teach pupils, ensuring planning, preparation, recording, assessment, and reporting meet their varying learning and social needs.
Attend relevant INSET/CPD opportunities to stay current with educational thinking and practice.
Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team.
Support the development and management of a curriculum area.
Demonstrate a high standard of classroom management and practice within the school's policies and guidelines.
Implement the school's behaviour management strategies.
Lead and manage a support staff team, ensuring appropriate deployment.
Plan, organize, and maintain a stimulating classroom learning environment.
Safeguard the health and wellbeing of pupils, promoting personal and social skills development.
Engage in dialogue with parents/carers, therapists, and professionals about teaching, learning, and pupil progress.
Participate in school activities, meetings, and discussions.
Make effective use of IT to enhance learning and teaching.
Promote the agreed ethos, attitudes, and values in all aspects of work.
Comply with and actively implement the school's policies on Health and Safety, Equal Opportunities, Safeguarding, and Behaviour Management.
Lead on a subject area, supporting policy development and implementation.
Participate in and support the performance management policy.
Carry out tasks as reasonably requested by the Head Teacher.
Designated Safeguarding Responsibility:

Take responsibility for all safeguarding and child protection matters at the school.
Support staff in dealing with child protection concerns.
Commit resources and support other staff in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young persons.
Support for Pupils:

Work with staff to ensure equal importance of all pupils' learning with high and realistic expectations.
Coordinate provision that meets pupils' needs and monitor its effectiveness.
Maintain and update records.
Liaise with staff, parents, carers, external agencies, and other schools for continuity of provision.
Communicate regularly with parents or carers.
Ensure a smooth transition for pupils.
Promote pupil inclusion in the school community and access to the curriculum, facilities, and extracurricular activities.
Other Areas of Responsibility:

To be discussed depending on experiences and skills.
All Teachers will be required to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people, following school policies and the staff code of conduct. The post holder may be required to do other duties appropriate to the level of the role, as directed by the Head Teacher.
