Job description
Cygnet Healthcare are looking for a confident Maintenance Manager to help provide a safe & healthy environment for our patients & service users to join our New Service – Cygnet Hospital Oldbury opening in Summer 2024.
At Cygnet Hospital Oldbury you will be working 42 hours per week 08:00/09:00 am till 16:00/17:00 Monday to Friday.
Cygnet Hospital Oldbury is our new state-of-the-art PICU & Acute hospital for women, in the West Midlands. The service will be opening in mid-2024.
The service will feature two wards. A 12-bed PICU ward and a 15-bed Acute ward. Cygnet Hospital Oldbury will have a full multi-disciplinary team (MDT) and will support the acute needs of adults requiring rapid access to mental health services, including those who may need an intensive care environment.
You’re day-to-day at Cygnet Hospital Oldbury:
- Effectively manage the performance of the external contractors providing hard and soft facilities management services (Including Planned preventative maintenance, small works & capital projects, security, pest control, grounds and garden maintenance, window cleaning, waste management)
- To support the Hospital Manager with collation of information for all statutory returns such as Controls assurance standards and H&S risk assessment audits.
- Prepare briefs, specification of works, environmental reports and local operational manuals to ensure adequate training for stakeholders in the operation of the building.
- Ensure compliance with the Company’s legal duties under Construction & Design Management Act 1994, Fire precautions Act, Health and Safety at work act, RIDDOR, COSHH, Water regulations, Workplaces (health and safety and welfare) regulations 1992, Control of asbestos regulations, Electricity at work, Lifts and other
- Ensure that the facilities function is managed within agreed delegated budgets, ensuring efficient and effective systems and procedures to enable close monitoring.
- Assist with the planning and scheduling of works with fellow colleagues and the Regional Maintenance Manager.
- Assist with interviewing potential new Maintenance Operatives
- Complete appraisals and staffing review with fellow maintenance team members
- Provide support, guidance and direction for team members assisting with the completion of tasks to deadlines set by Hospital Managers and Regional Maintenance Managers.
- Undertake regular site inspections to ensure compliance with all key regulations.
You are…
- An Experienced Maintenance Team Leader with experience of working within the Healthcare Industry (Ideal)
- Experienced in working within a supervisory role undertaking staff reviews and appraisals (Required)
- Experienced in communicating at all levels including Senior Managers and External Contractors
- Previous experience in dealing with budgeting
- Experience in delegating and planning of works ensuring completion to set deadlines and schedules (Required)
