Job Summary
The ETHOS Youth Worker will work as part of the ETHOS Team, in strategic partnership with the school, to positively impact young people and their families through holistic education. They will provide hands on clubs, activities, intervention groups & mentoring to help meet student’s emotional, relational, and spiritual needs.
Key Responsibilities
- To support the delivery of a holistic programme including drop down days, lessons, assemblies, clubs, and intervention groups rooted in our Christian ethos
- To deliver clubs, workshops and interventions that help meet student’s emotional, relational, and spiritual needs
- To work with young people on an individual or group basis, in formal or informal settings, offering practical and emotional support and helping them to develop skills to make positive changes in their lives
- To empower young people to empower others, build self-confidence, increase self-esteem, make informed choices, and develop moral character and values
- To effectively deliver & support small-group intervention programmes for referred students
- To deliver lessons where needed on Relationships & Sex Education related topics such as self-esteem, friendships, mental health and wellbeing, relationships, sexual delay, media influences, STIs, contraception and teenage pregnancy (with full training provided)
- To promote an understanding of key Christian events and festivals
- To act as a community link to liaise with key local Church and Community Partners
- Tracking, recording & measuring of student impact
- To carry out general administrative tasks as required
- To work as an integrated part of the Ethos Team
Qualifications & Experience Required
- Relevant Qualifications & experience working within an education setting
- Experience & understanding of working with young people with a variety of complex needs & issues
- Current enhanced DBS (upon confirmation of role)
- Must have own transport, a clean driving license & be willing to travel
- An understanding of safeguarding & child protection
- Must have a clear understanding of our Christian ethos & be able to articulate how Christian values can positively impact students’ lives
- NB: Training & support will be given in specialist subject areas such as RSE
Personal Competencies Required
- A familiarity with, & an ability to perform in accordance with, the mission, vision & values of Grace Foundation & its Christian ethos
- Clear Knowledge & understanding of our Christian ethos & how it applies to relevant issues young people face
- Excellent ability to deliver in a classroom setting
- Good communicator & facilitator with young people in large and small groups
- Effective organizational skills & ability to multi-task
- Effective oral, written, presentation & interpersonal skills
- A willingness to work with others & a consistent can-do enthusiastic attitude
- Attention to detail & ability to meet deadlines
- Confident & able to work on their own initiative
- Proficiency with IT applications (Word, Excel & PowerPoint) & social media.
- Ability to exercise discretion in dealing with confidential or sensitive matters
- Ability to provide pastoral care & show empathy & tact
- Ability to network with a range of people and organisations (public, private & voluntary)

Location: Site-based at Q3 Academy Tipton, Alexandra Road, Tipton, DY4 7NR
Hours: Part-Time Monday-Friday (3 days per week)
