Adecco are currently recruiting for a Laboratory Engineer, for a large electrical manufacturing company. This position will be based at their Scarborough site.

Mission and responsibilities:

Misson:

A Laboratory Engineer is responsible for the preparation and execution of all required tests, investigations of non-conformities, as well as the analysis and reporting of test results.

Responsibilities:

• Advise and assist the Laboratory Manager in formulating and executing the laboratory test programme, recommending procedures, and adhering to an agreed timetable.


• Create lab reports to distribute to customers.


• Ensure continued Lab compliance to ISO17025:2017 and ISO9001:2015, facilitating internal audits and reviewing the Laboratory Management System.


• Review lab equipment and advise the Laboratory Manager on any potential improvement opportunities.


• Evaluate the reliability and suitability of changes, both temporary and permanent, proposed by Engineering/Marketing/Manufacturing in existing products, e.g. Modified Standards. Advise the relevant parties of any concerns.

Skills and attributes:

The successful candidate will have the below skills and attributes:

• Good attention to detail.


• Strong time management skills.


• Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word and Powerpoint.


• Experience working in ISO17025 certified labs.


• Experience with ISO9001.

Education:

The Laboratory Engineer shall be suitably qualified to carry out their defined responsibilities. BEng or equivalent paired with relevant training/experience/demonstrated skills.

The Laboratory Engineer shall be prepared to undertake further educational and or practical training to improve knowledge and skills base.
