SOC Engineer
£600 - £700/Day Inside IR35

We are seeking a SOC Engineer for our Government client based in Corsham. This role will be fully office based with no hybrid working. The SOC Engineer role will be a contract running until Jan 2026, paying between £600 - £700/Day Inside IR35.
This role is inside IR35 - Due to the service of the role it will now be based on an Umbrella solution.
Clearance for roles: DV
Support SOC transition with expert security guidance and best practices application.
Provide strategic advice to senior management on incident response, monitoring, logging, and analysis of relevant systems and processes.
Lead the development, communication, and continuous improvement of the cyber incident response plan, including identification and planning for necessary cyber investment levels in CSOC governance, tooling, and staffing.
Define and continuously develop a use case-driven logging, monitoring, and response capability for cyber threat responsiveness and resilience.
Define the cyber security operations strategy in coordination with senior business and external stakeholders, managing the Cyber Security Operations Centre (CSOC) and processes in alignment with threat posture and government directives.
Possess advanced industry-standard SOC Security qualifications (SANS, ISC2, etc.).
Demonstrate at least 2 years of Tier 3 SOC Engineering experience.
Show experience in working with SIEM technology and engineering, including tool configuration, within an enterprise SOC.
Create use-cases, analytics, and playbooks, with an understanding of cloud technologies.
Triage security events, determine scope, priority, and impact, and provide recommendations for expeditious remediation.
Conduct real-time management of security incidents from detection to resolution.
Hold a degree-level qualification, preferably in a technical, engineering, or computing subject.
