Senior Support Worker – ASD | East Sussex | Full Time
Jemini Response is a small local community-based service for residents with Autism and Learning Disabilities. We focus on choice, empowerment and dignity by improving life chances and creating opportunities.
We support and care for residents both emotionally and physically, in their homes. We never forget that this is their home, we are just visitors, allowed to share their days.

Are you the right person for us?
• Relevant degree or certification in social work, psychology, or a related field
• Experience in a support worker role, with a focus on Autism Spectrum Disorder
• Demonstrated ability to lead and support a team of support workers effectively
• A knowledge and understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder, its characteristics, and best practices in support
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with individuals with ASD, their families, and other team members
• Ability to collaborate with other professionals, such as therapists, educators, and medical professionals, to provide holistic support
• Skilled in maintaining accurate and detailed records
• Flexibility and adaptability to respond to changing needs and unexpected situations
What will your role as a Senior Support Worker look like?
• To plan, implement and record specified activities with Residents and their families
• To help promote the ethos of the organisation and carry out the objectives of the service
• To contribute to Jemini Responses Weekly Quality Assurance documentation
• To assist Residents in effective communication and to maintain and update service users’ specific communication systems to this end
• To undertake available training opportunities identified through support and supervision and show a commitment to continuous development, to maximise your potential and ensure the efficient and effective delivery of Jemini Responses policies, procedures and ethos
• To work within agreed Safeguarding principles and to alert the line manager of concerns of abuse
• To assist Residents with their personal care as required
• To administer, record and order the use of prescribed drugs and medication, within agreed protocols
• To facilitate agreed plans for contact between Residents and family members
• To undertake risk assessments in relation to challenging behaviour
• To complete detailed, concise and factual records as required
• Participate fully in staff meetings, Care planning and the support and supervision process
• Participate fully in all community based and in-house activities
• Maintain the dignity and respect of residents
• Promote a positive role model and represent Jemini Response at all times
• To participate in elements of the grievance procedure if required
