Job description
A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our Vascular Team for an experienced Band 5 or current Band 6 to be able to specialise in vascular and amputee work. The team continues to grow after the expansion of vascular services in Kent and Medway and is developing and striving to towards providing a first-class service to our vascular patients within Kent.
This Band 6 role will be both challenging and rewarding, providing input to patients through their whole vascular journey including both inpatient and out patient work. You will work as part of a large dynamic and proactive surgical therapy team with good working relationships across the MDT.
Main duties include:
• To manage daily a specialist caseload within the services detailed above.
• To deputise for Team Leader on clinical and managerial issues within the team.
• To be actively involved with training within the Department. We are a friendly supportive team where regular meetings, CPD and supervision is available.
• To be responsible for appraisal and supervision of Band 3-5 staff within the team.
• To be an active clinical educator for students from a range of Universities.
• To be involved with clinical audit and service development within the team.
• To be an active member of the respiratory on-call rota.

Assessment, diagnosis, treatment and discharge planning for patients. To be an integral part in the treatment and rehabilitation of patients in this clinical area.
To see both vascular inpatients and out patients and cover across all 3 sites as required so support the vascular service.
The development of integrated care programmes and discharge plan with the patient.
Line management (including clinical supervision) of staff (e.g. Band 5, therapy assistants and students)
Provide professional advice and leadership
To actively work as a member of the multi-professional team to provide high quality therapy intervention to patients.
Manage a caseload of patients on a daily basis including patients with complex needs and multi pathology.
Clinicians working at this level will be expected to evaluate their outcomes, review non-responding cases either with their peers or clinical specialists and refer on as appropriate using documented clinical reasoning.
