Location/Division Specific Information

This role will be located in Loughborough, UK

Position Summary:

We have an excellent opportunity for a Finance Analyst to join our Operations Finance Team based in Loughborough. This role will work closely with our UK finance teams based in Loughborough and Heysham as well as collaborating with our global finance colleagues.

What you will do:
  • Perform and review variance analysis including current-to-prior month / budget / forecast / quarter / year fluctuations
  • Drive operational improvements and implement new methods to simplify and streamline all accounting processes including period end activities.
  • Assist UK Financial Controller with Annual Budgeting (AOP) process
  • Ensure the timeliness, accuracy, and completeness of monthly close activities
  • Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations, including general ledger accounts and sub ledger accounts
  • Management reporting through Hyperion Financial Management systems including PLN 2.0, FDM, FDMEE, Hyperion Planning, and CMR.
  • Full ownership of P&L and Balance Sheet for a small divisional entity.
  • Accounts Receivable / Credit Control for a small ledger of international customers
  • Support transactional colleagues with invoice processing volume to support overall delivery by the team.
  • Assist with the preparation of finance and business presentations, including monthly and quarterly business review schedules
  • Support ad-hoc requests as needed
How will you get here:
  • Professional qualification such as AAT or part-qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA), or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles. Working in a manufacturing setting would be a plus.
  • Advanced Excel (comfortable working with pivot tables, vlookups, sumifs, and additional formulas)
  • Track record of continuous improvement resulting in increased accuracy and efficiency.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Flexible and adaptable - particularly around month and quarter end
