Clinical Governance Lead
Derby Hospital | Management | Permanent | Full Time
Up to £49,000 pro rata dependent on experience
37.5 hours per week

As a Quality and Governance Lead in Nuffield Health Derby Hospital, you will operate autonomously supporting the Director of Clinical Services and the hospital to uphold the highest levels of quality and ensuring excellent governance across the site.
Support the Director of Clinical Services in Coordinating the clinical Governance agenda cross the hospital
To lead and champion patient safety in all area of practice, seeking out potential issues and encouraging staff to call out and report safety concerns.
To promote effective clinical risk management – undertaking risk assessments and investigations (relevant to sphere of practice), developing mitigation and escalation plans and contributing towards the maintenance of the risk register.
To proactively identify and manage safety issues and risks in accordance with regulation.
To promote and embed a safe working environment for patients, visitors and staff (in full compliance with all policies and procedures).
Manage and monitor the hospital incident management process supporting the delivery of the operational governance targets and the improvement of quality services to patients and families.
Support the Identification of risks and trends and areas for learning and audit.
To contribute towards high quality and timely incident investigations, have a sound awareness of Patient Safety Incident Response Framework
To champion safeguarding, addressing and escalating concerns.
To champion infection prevention, ensuring compliance with evidence-based standards and best practices in surveillance and antimicrobial management.
To promote an ethos of patient confidentiality, ensuring that all confidential data is managed in line with data protection requirements and that any concerns are escalated.
To champion evidence-based practices in medicines management, administering, supplying and prescribing in line with own scope of practice and NMC guidelines and organisational policies and procedures.
To support all HODS to embed a culture of quality and safety.
To oversee mandatory training programme and support HODs to manage staff compliance.
To oversee input into National Joint Registry (NJR), Breast Implant Registry (BIR) etc.
To assist HODS in completing RCA’s and incident investigations.
To co-ordinate peer audit programme
