ASSISTANT PRODUCER (FOOTBALL DOCUMENTARY)

We are looking for an Assistant Producer to join our documentary team working on a football documen-tary for a major SVOD.
The role would suit an experienced AP with a passion for football who is able to keep up with the
ever-changing landscape of the genre including the nuances of individual players / managers / relation-ships within the sport.
An AP who is used to working in a fast-paced environment, have forward planning experience and
experience working on location with creative, technical and editorial strengths.
The role will be split between the London office (4 days per week) and on location in Saudi Arabia.
Key Responsibilities:
• Work as part of the production team both in the UK and Saudi Arabia
• Deep understanding of and passion for football internationally
• Ensure all content is of a first-class standard, thoroughly researched and factually correct, ex-ceeding the needs and expectations of viewers
• Capability to organise and forward plan filming internationally, including sourcing and scouting
locations, liaising with contributors and fixers.
• Work effectively with other departments, clients, and broadcasters (both internal and external)
• Ensure that output complies with Whisper’s editorial, technical, design and accessibility stand-ards, whilst always working to the company’s Health and Safety policy
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
• Experience working on fast turnaround SVOD sports documentaries.
• Forward planning location experience including location finding and working closely with fixers to
arrange on the ground logistics.
• Ability to write clear and concise field notes and feed them back to Producer in a timely manner
• Strong research techniques and the ability to verify the accuracy of material
• Passion for, and knowledge of international football
• Ability to work collaboratively and clearly with the wider production and senior management teams
• Understanding of the budgeting and resources required to deliver varied projects including
completing expenses.
• Understanding of the importance of a multi-platform workflow and delivering to digital audiences
• Experience with complex workloads, consistently prioritising and delivering to deadlines, reacting
positively to changes and conflicts
• Strong communication, decision-making and problem-solving skills
• Experience maintaining multiple production projects in both an organisational and editorial sense
• A demonstrable level of creativity with the ability to bring a fresh new approach to creating en-gaging and evolving output
• The ability to shoot on Sony cameras would be a bonus but not essential
• Experience working in Saudi Arabia, and the ability to speak Arabic would be a bonus, but not
essential.
Working Days:
You will be required to work from the Kew Offices in London for a minimum of 4 days per week.
For on location work, this role will require a degree of flexibility and weekend working.
You will be expected to work with the team to plan a schedule based on production requirements.
Whisper offers the option of flexitime hours. When weekend work is required, DOILS will be provided.
Location:
Whisper’s Kew offices but you will be required to work In Saudi Arabia on location at times.
