Foundation Teaching Assistant

£425 per week

About the role

Connex Education is working alongside a primary school in Wallasey, on the Wirral, who are recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to work full time in their Foundation 2 class (Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm).

About the school

The school itself is a 2 form entry school. As a Foundation Teaching Assistant there, you will be providing 1:1 support to a child with autism. He can display behaviour that challenges. They are looking for a TA who is experienced, hardworking, caring and who wants to make a difference to pupils’ education. Team Teach training would be beneficial, as well as knowledge and experience working with children with additional needs and behaviour that challenges.

Assignment Details

This role will commence as soon as possible and will last for the remainder of the academic year.

Person Specification

• Level 2/3 qualification (CACHE, NVQ, BTEC, Childcare, NNEB, etc.) is desirable.
• GCSEs or equivalent Level 2 in Maths and English.
• Have experience of supporting pupils in a school or similar setting.
• Have experience supporting children with autism and behaviour that challenges.
• Have a current DBS on the update service or willing to provide a new one.
