Job description
Tendering Manager vacancy for a rotating equipment manufacturing company who boast expertise in maintaining and repairing various compressors, turbines, and pumps. Situated in Bedfordshire, they cater to diverse industries such as biomass, waste to energy, chemical, and marine operations, providing customised solutions adhering to international quality and safety standards.
The role of Tendering Manager is integral to our growth strategy, collaborating with operations, sales, and business development teams from initial inquiries to contract handover stages. The key objectives of this role encompass managing Tendering Engineers, conducting thorough technical and commercial reviews of RFQs, and crafting compelling proposals in response to client inquiries.
Responsibilities include overseeing and facilitating tendering activities, reporting progress to internal stakeholders, capturing customer requirements, consulting peers for input, preparing pricing estimates, evaluating subcontractor quotes, managing approvals, producing documentation, analysing contracts, identifying risks and opportunities, compiling and delivering tender documents, and ensuring accurate data entry into systems.
Key measurements for success involve the turnaround time from inquiry to quote, order receipt to entry, accuracy of tenders, HSE performance, and adherence to KPIs and Metrics.
The ideal candidate should possess a time-served mechanical engineering background, with at least 7 years of international tendering experience in sectors like Power Generation, Marine, Defense, or Oil & Gas. Familiarity with rotating machinery like turbines, compressors, and pumps is advantageous. Strong communication, relationship-building, and computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office packages, are essential for this role.
