What you will do in your working day

Applicants ideally should have a full driving license and preferably their own vehicle to get to the workplace. Alternatively, they must be able to get to Kennett where Swanson Landscapes is based and they will be driven to the work sites from there.

No prior knowledge of gardening is essential but an interest in horticulture and/or minor engineering projects would be advantageous.

This job will involve all aspects from soft and hard landscaping. 

General gardening duties:

• Keeping sites looking well kept & safe.
• Maintain a positive attitude at all times with site residents, clients & visitors
• Adhere to all health & safety policies and procedures
• Shared responsibility for cleanliness and health and safety throughout the company

The training you will be getting

• Full Level 2 Horticultural and Landscaping Operative Apprenticeship Standard qualification
• Emergency first aid: Level 3 award in Emergency First Aid at Work.

Pesticides: Level 2 Principles of Safe Handling and Application of Pesticides Guidance OR Level 2 Award in the Safe Use of Pesticides

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

A permanent position may be offered upon successful completion of the apprenticeship. Opportunity to learn and develop within the company. Progression on to higher apprenticeship / training.
