Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and visionary B2B SaaS Enterprise Architect to lead and oversee the overall IT architecture, encompassing systems, applications, data and infrastructure.The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of expertise in navigating complex enterprise landscapes, overseeing architectural consolidations, and strategically placing functions to optimize performance, scalability, and maintainability. As a key member of our technology leadership team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our software infrastructure, ensuring it aligns with our business goals and positions us for continued success.
Responsibilities: - Architectural Transformation:
- Lead the transformation of existing single-tenant, monolithic systems into a modern, scalable, and modular microservices architecture.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement the architectural vision, ensuring alignment with business objectives
- Identify opportunities for architecture consolidation to streamline processes, reduce complexity, and enhance overall system efficiency.
- Drive initiatives to consolidate redundant components and standardize architectural patterns.
Microservices Design and Implementation:
- Architect and design microservices-based solutions, considering scalability, fault tolerance, and maintainability.
- Oversee the implementation of microservices, ensuring adherence to best practices and established architectural patterns.
- Evaluate and implement techniques for function placement based on workload characteristics and business requirements.
Collaboration and Leadership:
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including development teams, product managers, and IT operations, to ensure alignment between business needs and technical solutions.
- Create architectural blueprints and documentation to guide development teams.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the development teams, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
Technology Stack Assessment:
- Conduct regular assessments of the technology stack, evaluating emerging technologies and making recommendations for adoption or enhancement
- Assess and plan for the scalability and capacity of IT systems to accommodate future growth.
Security and Compliance:
- Work closely with the security and compliance teams to ensure that the architecture meets industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Governance
- Define and implement rules, processes and controls that govern, protect and enhance the enterprise architecture.
- Establish and lead the Architecture Review Board, leveraging internal and external SMEs in assessing and making decisions on enterprise architecture.
- Develop and maintain architectural assets that support decision making.
- Ensure that architectural decisions support the business and technology strategy.
Qualifications: - Proven experience as an Enterprise Architect, specifically in the B2B SaaS space.
- Demonstrated success in transforming single-tenant, monolithic systems into modern microservices architecture.
- In-depth knowledge of microservices design patterns, best practices, and implementation.
- Experience with function placement strategies and optimization techniques.
- Persuasive influencer capable of establishing meaningful relationships and being attuned to the pulse of ongoing projects
- Strong background in architectural consolidation and streamlining processes.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Knowledge of security and compliance considerations in B2B SaaS environments.
- Familiarity with emerging technologies and trends in enterprise architecture.
Education and Experience: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, with a focus on B2B SaaS
- Proven track record of successfully leading large-scale architectural transformations.
