Junior – Senior Electronic Design Engineer
Hybrid Working – 4 Day Week
This Design Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the design and providing manufacturing support for the products created by my client. This role involves daily tasks such as designing and evaluating electro-mechanical components, assemblies, and firmware, with a focus on assisting the production team.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Collaborating with the R&D team to design innovative systems, circuits, and devices.
- Developing and enhancing existing products and technologies.
- Conducting tests on theoretical designs.
- Creating technical documentation and compiling technical files.
- Adhering to defined development processes.
- Integrating designs with other products.
- Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of medical standards, including IEC 60601-1 Ed 3, ISO 14971, IEC 62366, ISO 62304, ISO 13485, and FDA guidelines CFR 21.
- Ensuring compliance with medical design and product regulations.
- Testing prototypes and analyzing resulting data.
- Participating in meetings with subcontractors and clients.
- Staying informed about technological advancements and regulatory changes.
- Generating product or design reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Demonstrating flexibility to work across departments as needed to meet business requirements.
- Primarily office-based with occasional travel within the UK and abroad.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Analytical approach to fault finding.
- Proficiency in electronics design, including both analogue and digital components.
- Firmware development expertise.
- Schematic design proficiency.
- Commitment to quality-focused work.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and meet tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of PIC and Atmel development using C.
- Familiarity with electro-mechanical systems.
- Comprehensive understanding of the importance of quality and health and safety in the workplace, adhering to relevant procedures and processes.
