Job description
Russell House is a specialist inpatient unit for adults with severe eating disorders. Situated within the grounds of Priory Hospital Cheadle Royal, the eating disorder team work closely with the NHS to provide intensive treatment for people suffering with conditions such as anorexia, bulimia or atypical eating disorders. We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Occupational Therapist to join our specialist eating disorder team. The Occupational Therapist will provide assistance to professional and clinical staff with the planning, implementation and evaluation of therapeutic activities in order to improve mental, emotional well-being and quality of life for our patients. We are currently looking for a part time (30 hours) and a full time (37.5 hours) member of the team. Required: • BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy together with full RCOT membership and HCPC registration. The right person for the role: Suitable applicants should have a minimum of one year's experience gained within a related clinical or therapeutic environment. It is desirable that the post-holder will have experience managing a caseload of service users with complex needs. The successful candidate will: 1. Manage a clinical caseload of patients with complex mental health needs. 2. Consider both physical and mental health needs as part of the occupational therapy assessment and treatment. 3. Plan and implement specialist individual and/or group interventions collaboratively, to enable patients to achieve valued goals and satisfactory occupational performance outcomes. 4. Maintain accurate and timely records detailing each patient’s rehabilitation / progress. This will include the provision of specialist occupational therapy and CPA reports. 5. Ensure the effective and efficient management and supervision of Therapy Assistants. 6. Maintain close working relationships with professional and clinical colleagues within the multi-disciplinary team, ensuring clinical practice is in line with Priory policies and procedures and complies with statutory regulations and quality standards. 7. Maintain effective communication links with patients, relatives, carers and purchasers, throughout every patient’s treatment. 8. Contribute to the development and evaluation of the Occupational Therapy service at Cheadle Royal Hospital.
