Job description
An exciting opportunity for a Purchasing Analyst has become available with a global manufacturing company based in Peterlee, on an 18-month contract.
This role is responsible for the analysis and maintenance of assigned processes that produce output excellence, builds expertise for the assigned process area, and contributes to continuous improvement efforts. The incumbent will also be responsible for the analysis and maintenance of procurement and logistics data, including but not limited to purchase orders, quotations, invoices, source catalogues, material rejection reports, supplier data/measurement, and inventory management.

- Build expertise in the assigned process area
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts
- Analyse and maintain procurement and logistics data, including purchase orders, quotations, invoices, source catalogues, material rejection reports, supplier data/measurement, and inventory management
- Implement local or regional sourcing strategies under the direction of a manager and experienced buyers and professionals
- Work effectively with colleagues, customers, and suppliers at all levels
- Demonstrate advanced project management skills to collect, compile, assimilate, communicate, and maintain information as required
- Assess and recommend solutions related to quality control and data management (QCLDM)
- Maintain the highest ethical and professional standards
- Perform analytical and administrative tasks in support of Global Supply Network strategic initiatives
- Support buyers, product supply leaders, supply network operations supervisors, and/or managers working with category, facility, product, and logistics teams
- Keep customers informed of progress on assignments to ensure all requirements are met
- Participate in and provide analysis related to CPPD/NPI projects to product and procurement teams
- Travel may be required to support category, product, facilities, supply excellence, or logistics management
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field
- Intermediate to advanced skill in the use of computer software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Visio, PowerPoint, and procurement systems
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative work style
- Familiarity with basic procurement and quality principles, procedures, and techniques
- Ability to prioritise work in a dynamic environment
Monday - Thursday 08.30-16.30 core hours, Friday 12.30 finish. 4 days on site, no less will be considered.
