The Opportunity
We now have an opportunity for a Quarry Manager to join the team at our Hillhead Quarry in Uffculme, near Tiverton, Devon. This is a great opportunity as you’ll join an established team at our growing Sand & Gravel quarry.
With an annual extraction of 350,000 tonnes and large projects in the planning phase, this position will offer you excellent growth in your career.
Keys aspects of the role include:
You’ll act as the Statutory 8.1(c) on site
Lead a safe and sustainable work environment
You will help maintain the financial performance of the site in line with budget requirements ensuring processes are implemented to report all information required for accounting purposes
Implement and ensure compliance of the company’s health and safety rules, Quality assurance and environmental policies
Work strategically to ensure quarry operations are carried out in accordance with the geotechnical assessment and quarry design plan
Proactively seek improvement in site activities - whether Opex, cost or engagement with stakeholders
Who you are
Understanding of Quarry Regulations, Statutory Health & Safety and Employment legislation
Ideally, you’ll hold a SHE NVQ Level 3 or QCF Equivalent and Geotechnical 4 – however this is not essential
Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective working relations with others - internal and external stakeholders
Highly organised with demonstrable planning and delivery capabilities
Understanding of budgets and financial responsibility
