Job description

What you will do in your working day

You will gain competencies in a wide range of carpentry and joinery techniques and expect to undertake the following:

• Understanding of drawings and work in accordance with specifications
• Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed
• To cut and shape timber using a wide variety of bench tools and machinery
• Assemble doors, windows, staircases and bespoke furniture as required
• Assisting with installs on site
• Undertake any additional training as requested
• Follow Health & Safety policy and procedures, including the wearing of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
• Use all tools, equipment and materials safely
• Build and maintain good working relationships with colleagues, customers and managers.

The training you will be getting

• Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card
• Carpentry & Joinery Apprenticeship Level 2.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

• Possible full time employment as a joiner. 
• Progression to a level 3 qualification.
