We have a fantastic opportunity at our recently refurbished, Newport (Maindee) charity shop for a driven and passionate retail manager to work 37.5 hours (5 days) on a Fixed Term Contract for 12months.
Tŷ Hafan's charity shops play a key role in raising essential funds to enable Tŷ Hafan’s care provision through our hospice and community programmes which support children with life-limiting conditions and their families in Wales.
About the role
As one of the first Tŷ Hafan shops, our Newport shop is well-established in the local community and supported by our loyal donors, customers and volunteers. The Shop Manager is responsible for delivering outstanding customer service and for maintaining excellent shop standards, with strong and creative visual merchandising. The Shop Manager will be responsible for driving donated stock to the shopfloor, overseeing selection and pricing, supported by a team of staff and volunteers.
Newport Shop opening hours are Monday to Saturday 9.00am to 4.45pm.
About you
We are looking for someone with previous management and retail experience who is able to deliver targets and objectives. You will be commercially aware, with strong organisation skills, and a drive to provide excellent customer and donor experience through positive customer interactions and providing a well merchandised and presented shop floor.
As well as leading a paid Deputy Shop Manager, you will be expected recruit, motivate and grow the volunteer team who are crucial in supporting in the running of the shop. We give our Shop Managers autonomy, and are looking for someone who is able show initiative, taking responsibility for the performance of the shop, whilst demonstrating compassion for colleagues, volunteers and our supporters.
