Job Title: Play Assistant Salary: £11.59- £11.79 per hour (depending on level of qualification) Contract Type: Casual Location: Lyde Green, BS16 7LH

We are looking for passionate and creative play assistants to join our before and after school clubs, based at our Lyde Green School and Cherry Garden School. This will be on a casual basis so hours and days can be flexible and can fit around your current commitments; you will be able to discuss your availability at interview.
As a member of the team, you will gain valuable experience assisting the delivering a wide range of engaging and participative childcare activities; working with children from ages 4 - 11.This is a demanding but very rewarding role suited to someone with an interest in supporting children and should ideally have some relevant experience of working alongside children. You should be self-motivated, have good communication skills and be able to engage with children positively.Hopefully you will have a Level 3 qualification in Play-work or Early Years but if not, so long as you have some experience as most important is that you have an understanding of the issues involved inthe delivery of quality play care; and demonstrable experience of providing and facilitating safe and creative play. Your responsibilities will include: ● Plan and deliver safe activities with groups of children from all class ranges ● Engage with children encouraging them to participate in activities to promote learning and social development● Support children on a 1:1 basis who have complex needs (if required) ● Encourage fair and caring behaviour among the children ● Encourage independence and self-esteem ● Ensure safety and safeguarding procedures are adhered to ensure children are kept safe ● Assist with food preparation for serving breakfast and afterschool snacks
