Senior Estimator (Heavy Civils)
Salary: to £100k + package
Based: West London (W4)
- A n exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Estimator to join one of the leading civil engineering contractors in the UK.
- Our client has an incredibly vast portfolio of contracts in the UK. They are involved in major JV’s, are recognised as a leader within the aviation sector and also undertake individual contracts ranging in value up to £200m.
- In order to secure these schemes, my client has an opening for a highly organised professional looking to take their career to the next level. You will be responsible for overseeing the development of accurate estimates for projects throughout the portfolio . You will be an integral member of the team, providing technical advice and support to colleagues.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Taking responsibility for planning and estimating projects
- Developing detailed estimates for projects that are accurate and timely
- Liaising with staff and suppliers to ensure estimates are up to date
- Negotiating with suppliers to obtain the best prices
- Keeping accurate records of estimates and reporting progress to senior management
- Managing the cost and budget process for projects
- Ensuring that all projects meet safety and quality standards
- Providing technical advice and guidance to colleagues
To be successful in this role, you must possess:
- A degree, HND or equivalent in Civil Engineering or a similar related discipline
- At least 5 years' experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of estimating software and estimating techniques
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- The ability to work to tight deadlines
