We are particularly keen to hear from people who can support the development of our work in communications, policy influencing and NFP income generation.

Resuscitation Council UK (RCUK) is appointing a new member to its Board of Trustees to challenge, guide and support our organisation as we pursue our ambitious aims and mission.

RCUK holds a unique place in the NFP health sector. Our origins and ethos are underpinned by our commitment to saving lives through the delivery of evidence-based clinical guidance, training courses and initiatives to ensure everyone across society has the skills they need to save a life. Our training is used extensively throughout the NHS and other care settings. In recent years, our activities have expanded to include the promotion of an increased public consciousness of cardiac arrest and the vital role that members of the public can – must – play in the resuscitation chain of survival.

We punch above our weight in a crowded communications environment, inhabited by many far larger charities. We have ambitious plans for growth in terms of both service delivery and influencing. All of this must be delivered at a time when our principal customer – the NHS – is facing unprecedented pressures and challenge.

We ask our Trustees to work alongside members of the Senior Leadership Team providing expertise, support and challenge. We hold four online Board meetings and one in person planning awayday a year. Total time commitment for a trustee is approximately 10-12 days per year.
