HGV Mechanic
Tipton
£18-£20 per hour
The Role:
You will work as part of a team of 5, reporting into the workshop Supervisor you will be responsible for supporting Fleet and Plant Operations ensuring vehicles are maintained to a high-quality standard, timely and meet all regulatory requirements.
What you will be responsible for?
- Fully inspect vehicles in the workshop, identifying any defects and correcting where necessary
- Undertake vehicle repairs when they arise
- Carry out pre-planned servicing and MOT preparations
- Attend onsite breakdowns
Hours of work
- Monday to Friday 7am to 5pm
- On call rota 1 in every 4 weeks. **On call rate payable plus callout bonus
- Weekend work available
What Knowledge, Skills & Abilities do you require?
- 3 years plus HGV mechanic experience
- Hold a full, industry recognised qualification (City & Guilds / NVQ level 3 in heavy vehicle Service, Maintenance and Repair
- Class 2 driving licence essential - class 1 desirable
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Team player
- Ability to use own initiative
- Attention to detail
- Problem solving skills
