The Schools Financial Services Training Team deliver quality finance training to schools, academies, multi academy trusts and governors. This includes training on the accounting software used by schools as well as the financial processes they need to follow.
An opportunity has arisen to join the training team as a part time Senior Training Officer (four days per week all year round).
Currently schools use SIMs FMS6 or Bromcom Finance accounting systems and knowledge of these would be useful but full training will be given to the successful candidate

This role is hybrid with the main office at New Hythe Lane Unit 1, Aylesford Commercial Park, Papyrus Way, Aylesford, Kent ME20 7FE from 2 April 2024.
The training we provide is a mixture of virtual and face to face training across the county of Kent and Medway. On occasion training is provided to other Local Authority Schools outside Kent. There is also the opportunity to work from home.
You will need to be able to travel to a variety of training venues and may also have to transport training equipment and resources to the venues.
Applicants will need to be organised with good IT skills, excellent customer relationship skills and able to work as a member of a team. Schools follow a number of financial controls and you will need to understand the financial controls that schools work to and be able to research and analyse data.
You will have a good working knowledge of the virtual software used in the training, Zoom, Teams and Teams Live as well as the confidence to present to different groups of school staff and help support and train Schools Financial Services staff.
The Senior Training officer works with another colleague to ensure that our training programme is continually reviewed and improved as changes occur.
