Waste Operator - DSTL Subcontractor
- £12.43 per hour
- 37 hours per week
- Monday to Friday
We're currently recruiting a dedicated Waste Operator to help ensure the smooth running of the operations in Defence on a full time basis, contracted to 37 hours per week.

Your key responsibilities will include: - To carry out waste, recycling and general portering duties
- Carry out a wide range of general portering tasks to include the carrying and movement of heavy items of furniture and equipment.
- To ensure all tasks associated with the collection, sorting and recycling of waste and any general support services are carried out with due regard to all Health & Safety Regulations.
- Record the ingress/egress of all visitors to the recycling compound ensuring all Health & Safety procedures are strictly adhered to
- Continuously monitor hygiene standards throughout the recycling compound,clean up the sorting table, building and compound at the end of each shift.
Carry out the sorting ofa wide variety of reusable waste material for recycling in accordance with established standards and procedures, assuring that contaminated or non-recyclable materials are separated from recyclable materials. Identify and distinguishrecyclables (paper, glass, etc.) from non-recyclables (garbage, etc.). Includes sorting through materials on a sorting table to view and recognize type, and opening bags to inspect contents. Aid with the reception and loading of incoming vehicles, bulkers, RoRos, skips, curtain siders and other vehicles within the recycling compound.
Our ideal Waste Operative will: - Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining a positive attitude.
- Team player and can‐do attitude.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Experience in a hands-on operational role within the waste management or related industries Experience of working within a military environment.
